Holiday fitness and diet regime.

I’m currently on holiday in a gorgeous part of France called Vix near La Rochelle.  As you may have read in previous posts, my husband (Christian) and I have a great PT (Jack) he said I should relax and enjoy the holiday but try and have some excercise and try not to go overboard with food or drink.

I have to admit that when he first mentioned it, my initial thought was that I had worked hard all year and now was my time to chill out and I would eat/drink what I wanted.  The first couple of days was like that, but then I started feeling bloated, and I decided that I don’t want to undo all the good work I’ve done so far.  Granted, I’m no fitness model, but I know I’ve made improvements in my diet and physique and after two weeks of potentially falling off the wagon I didn’t want to go back to square one!

So, I’ve been for a few runs in the morning before breakfast and tried not to go overboard on food or alcoholic drink (have to admit the last one has been the worst).  We have mainly eaten in the Gite and cooked for ourselves, so the food part hasn’t been difficult.  However, next week we are off to Bordaux and Cognac for a couple of days, so not going to be so easy – but I’ll try and be sensible with what I eat and drink!

Pre breakfast run! Pre breakfast run!

When you go away what do you do, what’s your holiday fitness and diet regime?  Do you take a complete break and just east and drink what you want, or have a strict plan?  I’d love to hear your thoughts, and any advice/tips you can throw our way with keeping sensible would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Anyway, au revoir from Vix, and see you back in the UK in a weeks time 🙂
