Shooting Different Styles

The main the sort images I shoot (and I find most enjoyable) are male fitness and fashion portraits. Thats certainly what I shoot most of, and what I get paid for. However, its always good to have other genre you shoot. It keeps things interesting and helps you think outside the box.

I also find this helps me mentally too! I love to go out with my camera into nature - to any scenic place - and just wander. I keep an eye out for things to shoot, and this can be very mindful. Doing this, I think I switch off from everything else going on in my life and look out for angles, composition etc that work that I can snap. Sometimes I come back with no useable images at all, and sometimes I come back with lots of things!

This week has been a good week, as I’m on annual leave from the day job and two trips out where I could shoot nature! Firstly we planned a trip to Crosby Beach (near liverpool). Firstly we checked weather forecasts and then tide times (first time we went was years ago, and we just went on the spur of the moment. Got there and the tide was in! - totally wasted trip….). The second trip was today, to RHS Bridgewater, and this is literally 15 min drive from our house.

The weather was great for both trips, and got some nice images, I’ve posted a selection from both below. Have you every planned a trip somewhere purely to wander about with your camera? I love going to beaches, parks, gardens or National Trust places. Give me your thoughts in the comments!

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.

Bye for now!

Mark.
