City location shoot!

So, the other day I was contacted by June. Her son, David, does acting but also wants to get into modelling (he’s 15). After a few conversations over Instagram we settled on a location shoot in Manchester. The date and time was set and we agreed on the type of clothing for him to bring, once June signed the necessary paperwork we were good to go!

During our exchanges over Instagram I found out this would have been Davids’ first city location shoot, but he had done other shoots before. I’ve shot with complete newbies’s to seasoned photoshoot professionals before, so hoped I could cope with anything! I was pleasantly surprised. David and his mum arrived with a good variety of clothing and were eager to get going. Throughout the shoot David was a delight to deal with. He was eager to learn, and easy to pose (the “mirror me” technique always works well in my opinion), which was great. I think he was a bit nervous to start with, but after I showed a few images from the back of the camera he soon relaxed, also David was a bit self conscious with people walking by and being inquisitive as to what we were up to. I said, you just have to ignore them and concentrate on what we were doing, I hope that helped!

I was really pleased with the shots we were getting and it was great to see when he started getting into poses himself! David’s got a great look, attitude and a great work ethic. Love to work with him again!

Below are some of the edit shots we took, let us know what you think!

Cheers, Mark.
