Epic Holiday 2023

Hi,

Been a while since I posted on my blog, but I now plan to change that and update you more regularly with what’s been happening!

So to start with, I’ve just come back from an awesome holiday which entailed me having 4 week off work! My brother emigrated to Auckland, New Zealand some years ago, I have been out to see him, but that was a while ago! So, shortly after my Mum died we decided to save up and go and see my brother. As we were going so far, we decided to stop off at other places before and after New Zealand. We had a few days in Singapore on the way out, and a few days in Sydney on the way back! It all planned out, tickets and some activities booked. However, Covid struck and we all know what that meant! When the New Zealand borders were re opened we re organised everything an eventually flew off in March 2023.

Our decision to stop off in Singapore was a stroke of genius. It enabled us to break the journey at a midway point so that we recover from the jeglag, which only took a day. So when we got to Auckland it wasn’t such a shock to the system, and we could get on in earnest with our holiday in both destinations.

As you can imagine, being a photographer, I took lots of images! So, over a few instalments (not decided quite how to split it yet) I’ll show you some images taken at each place. Hope you enjoy seeing them as much I enjoyed being there and taking them!

Firstly, Singapore. Its a place I’ve never considered going to as a holiday destination, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much there was to do, and how friendly the people are. Also, I felt incredibly safe and would recommend anyone go / stop over there. We stayed at the Fullerton Hotel which was central to most of the places we wanted to go and see. This was directly opposed the Marina Bay Sands hotel (just a bit too expensive for our pockets).
